Pay Element Also Known As...* Time Period Definition**
New Hire Grant Stock compensation, equity compensation, stock-based compensation, share-based compensation, options, RSUs, equity, cash LTI

One-time

Expressed as the value communicated at time of offer.

Stock grant provided in the offer letter, typically communicated in dollar value and delivered in RSUs, options, or in rare cases, cash.

New hire grant only; excludes future  / refresh grants.

* Stock-based compensation: For most organizations this is representative of RSUs, however could include different forms of equity (e.g., shares/stock, restricted shares, options, performance shares) or cash (e.g., SARs, phantom stock, performance unit plan or cash long-term incentives).

** Compa Offers is based on offer data, and uses the stock value communicated at the time of the offer. Nearly all participants communicate new hire grants in dollar value in the offer letter, then later convert to shares following Board approval. Therefore, you can think of the stock valuation methodology in Compa Offers as "perceived" value - the amount the recruiter shared and the candidate accepted or rejected. This methodology represents the best measure of current market conditions, and aligns with data available from the Applicant Tracking System.
